I tried to put My Sks-d on a Advanced technoliges Dragnouv Stock it felt a little loose at first I took a shot and it still did not feel right. I grabbed it bt the barrel and pulled forward on the stock and the thing came forward and fell off the stock. What happend:confused:

Hmmm...weird. I am planning on doing the same. As soon as Marstar re-opens, I'll order a Draganov stock for my SKS-D. I'll let you know how it worked for me. You might have gotten a defective one in which case you should return it for a replacement. If you bought it at Marstar (and I suspect you did) then phone them and ask what your options are. I know that they have all kinds of "customer satisfaction warranties".

Mine works well.

Some people seem to be very anti the ATI stock. As far as I can see it fits well, is comfortable to use and is durable.

I've never heard any real problems with it before. It's not as good as the Choate one, but still serviceable AFAIK. The real annoyance is the bump behind the reciever cover that means you have to pull the stock off to get at the bolt.

A real pain in the ass. I hate taking out the trigger group on SKSes.

Did you put back the metal spring that found in the old SKS stock, In the ATI stock?

The one that put tention on the trigger mech?

i tried everything with that stock. the little spring in/out, shimming with various substances ect ect. after i got it to stop falling apart i found i couldn't get a decent group with it. i let some others shoot it(to rule out loose nut behind the wheel) and nobody could get that gun to shoot respectably. even an sks will hit the same side four foot screen at one hundred. i think the plastic wasn't stong enough to hold the gun from moving left and right inside the stock. put the wood furniture back on it and suddenly i am pulling off normal sks groups.

I have had no problems with mine - I put 40 rounds through it yesterday just to get it ready for a possible predator hunt. I also did a reload / accuracy test with mine this summer and I had absolutely no problems with the stock and no abnormal accuracy issues with it. Mine was very tight putting the action into the stock. Sounds like you got a lemon.

After hearing so many negative comments about ATI accessories for the SKS I decided to go with Choate and I couldn't be more satisfied with it's overall fit and quality. I acquired the Conventional synthetic stock through Wolverine supplies. I wanted to retain the rifle's classic appearance, the stock also increases the rifle's length of pull.

My Friend had a problem with the ATI folding stock, it was too tight or something and it fell out after firing it once.. My Brother sanded it down and fitted it properly and been fine ever since. I might Switch Stocks on my SKS too Got my friends old one.

ATI stock

I cut off the annoying bump behind the receiver and can now field strip without taking the stock off every time.

Fairly simple to do with a sharp razor saw which can be bought cheaply at any hobby store. Finish off with fine files or sandpaper

Couple of questions:
1. Why the need to field strip your SKS so often that taking the stock off becomes a pain in the butt?

2. Does the bolt on SKS-D lock open after the last round?
