Sks with Advanced technoliges Dragnouv Stock

I have a Dragonov stock on mine , don't know who made it .
It took some fitting for me to be happy with it , I cut the hump off and shaped the rear so it could be dis assembled like it can with the wood stock , much better .
it got a little loose with age / wear so I used two screws to remove the slop , one at the rear into the stock and one at the front into the stock . Works great .
When you did the swap , could you hear / see the trigger retainer snap in place ?
It may not have been fully in place .

I have the same problem with the ati dragonov stock. Waaay too much play. If i pull the barrelled action toward the muzzle it goes forward about 1cm. The front stock retainer is pulled ahead of the stock point. The barrelled action can then be pulled upward and free. It's a POS. Wouldn't recommend it.

If it had the hump, it is an ATI. The Choate stock does not have the hump.

Does Choate make the Draganov too? Does it look like the ATI?

Choate Machine and Tool also makes a Dragunov stock, yes. IMO, it looks nicer, and reportedly is of superior quality. I've never handled one, though.

Yep..Choate dragunov stock is the better one by far. I had an ATI, discovered that it seriously sucked, went Choate and was made again.

For the ATI model I believe we actually have to shim the FRONT of the reciever. If we shim the rear it will always leave the front of the rifle disengaged from the stock.

where abouts would you put the shim on the ATI stock?
