SKS Yugo 59-66AB1

Back when Marstar still had some I bought 2 Yugo M-59/66AB1. http://www.marstar.ca/spec-rif.htm One for me and one for my brother. My brother never picked his up. I still have it packed in the same grease and Saran wrap that Marstar shipped it in. I just added a trigger lock and locked the case.

I am wondering if it is a good idea to clean it up or should I just leave it packed the way it is? Last night I checked up on it. It seems happy. I am just worried about Mr. Evil Rust. My gun room has its own dehumidifier and heater.

You won't find any better rust protection than cosmolene......
Keep it in the grease if you are not going to shoot it. It will be worth more if you ever decide to sell it.

Had two myself, very nice (handpicked) from Marstar......on an impulse traded those a few mths back for a couple of CZ shotguns (Bobwhites in 12 and 20).....should've kept at least one (sigh!)
