I heard from another gunnut that Skullboy retired from stock painting. Was I out doing something supposedly useful when this happened?

Yes, I have retired from painting.

It was taking too much time away from my family/kids, and my own shooting time.

Quality time with the family is far more important ! I too have had to cut back on my "Gun Time" and spend more quality time with my "New" wife of 1 year. This was not a forced move ,but rather a move that I made on my own . I know others will be diappointed , I wish you the best my friend !
