Ever since I bought my SL-8 I've been having lots of fun dressing it up.

The G-36 butt makes a big difference in the balance of the rifle but I'm a big guy so I can deal with it. The vertical grip helps to adjust for the front heavy status.

I have just recently gotten the dual sight system for it and haven't fired it using those optics yet.

I have side rails on order for the handguards to attach any more accessories I may choose to put on later.

Now I would like to put a G-36 barrel on it to make it look like it's Bundeswehr cousin. Does anyone know where to get one of these barrels or is it made of unobtainium? :)
 
I agree.. Here's a picture of mine (sold to a very Happy CGN'er)

The TopNotch (TN) kits are good but very hard to get. I went with a G-36K stock as Im normal sized ;)

The TN AR15 adapter was worth the modifications too... that picture above was pre-PMAG

before the HK G36 FH... (which actually made that thing bigger !!)

Sweet! If I had the money, I think the SL-8 would be the next black rifle I'd get. I love my AR180B, but I'm always itching for a fun project to do like this. Someday, maybe....
 
I bought my SL8 with the intention of dressing it up to a G36, but I don't think I'm going to do that. I like the long barrel, and its accuracy. I might get a Folding butt stock conversion if I find one cheap somewhere.

Also, I noticed you have a very short bottom rail. I got mine from Dlask Arms, and it covers the whole bottom. Its really nice because my vertical grip is also my bipod, so i slide it to the front and open it, or close it and slide it back. They custom machined the standard G36K bottom rail to fit the SL8 the way I wanted it to, at no extra charge! Props to DLASK Arms!

Anyone know where I can get G36 Mags? There were a few available for $125.00 + shipping, I passed. That seems a little insane for a mag.

I'd go with the AR magwell conversion, if I were you, then you can shoot 10 rounders for a quarter of the price, and use P Mags for LCF.

Thats a good deal at $125 per G36 mag they will be $150+ if available from now on ...b Its good kit, Its German ... Its worth the $$$

... The TN AR15 adapter is worth every penny .. but to some its using an inferior mag in a well made gun...

X3 I'd buy it. I check to see if it sold every few days. :D Although I'm up to $5500 so far on my SL8. :eek:
 
If they weren't so expensive I would have several in different configurations, Went with the PSG1 look and love it. All I have to say about the AR mag conversion is the bolt is a little hard on the AR mags at the leading edge but other then that its a great rifle.
