uh you wanna take a mulligan on that and try to clear the grammar up? I'd try to help you but I am not sure I quite understand what you're trying to get across.

Let me clean this up for him since he's obviously a millennium:
He has a new sl8-4, it has a weird weld on it about 2 inches back of the charging handle. He's not sure if that is what's causing the below problems (see lines below):

He also has gotten a new NEA magwell adapter installed on his sl8-4 so that he can use XCR pistol 10 round magazines.
1: Since the install of the NEA magwell, he now can't release the bolt, and low and behold he can't pull the inserted XCR pistol mag out of the NEA magwell.
2: After asking 1 of his buddies to help, he managed to finally get the mag out, but it's weird that it's stuck in like that?
3: He thought maybe it was the mag, but he tried 4 other XCR pistol mags and still same problem, so he oiled them to be able to pull them out, but they are still very sticky.
4: With all the mags, he tried to release the bolt, but it would still not release on any of the XCR pistol mags while still using the same NEA magwell adapter, so he put the factory magwell back on and he's using the factory mags (assumption on my part)

So his question (assumption again on my part) is if any of us who has an sl8-4 with an NEA XCR pistol magwell adapter have experienced the same problems and what we did to fix the above mentioned issues: sticky mags, bolt not releasing, weird weld.

Voila

The welds are common on HK stuff, they machine parts in a billet then bend parts over, weld and heat treat. The USC45 has them on parts of the bolt as well, ignore it as it's supposed to be like that.

For NEA, that's your issue. The mag well adapter itself is most likely out of spec. See if there is any "scratches" or excess wear on the magazines and you can try filing a little on the mag catch so the mags lock in without too much effort. Sounds like it's so high that it's sitting the mag up too high and not letting the bolt release properly.

I have an SL-8 that came with a NEA magwell and it sometimes catches PMags but never works with LAR mags.

I'm tossing mine in the trash where it belongs. That's the fix.

Thanks

The rifle is great ,didnt find front heavy, trigger not bad,it liked the 75 gr Hornady steel match, will try others
Will be a keeper.
As far as the NEA mag well adaptor in the parts box for now

The Spuhr MWA is expensive but what isn't when it comes to H&K.....

About the same price as the HKParts one.

That's what I'm going to try next.

Have a read through the SL8 FAQ thread. To run the NEA mag well you need to open up the front area of the mag well in the receiver. There are two tabs, one on ether side of the receiver mag well, that have to be ground down just a little bit. After that is done you'll have no more issues.

you could just buy speer 5/30mags as they work flawless, or do a slight modification and get some g36 mags (you can still run the factory mags after the g36 mod without problems)

This is only for Kidaco. Not the rest of you.

I read somewhere that washing it with the magwell kit in the dishwasher works. Seems the parts don't fit perfect right off the get go, but the warm water helps the two match up. Just make sure to take the optics off. Probably won't hurt the optics but it'll be easier to put in the dishwasher and you don't want to risk scratching the glass. The problems on this thread should be fixed after that.

NOTE: The above bad advice was provided as a public service message for Kidaco. Do not wash your firearms in the dishwasher. If you do, you do so at your own risk.

As SFRC web site (NEA) states NO GUNSMITH installation ,I thought bolt on good to go,should have known when the holes were slightly a`skew
I think I will pick up some 5 or 7 round mag instead

The NEA seems to be hit or miss. You will need to mod the receiver. This is detailed in the SL8 sticky, if you need detailed info check there. The Spuhr magwel does cost more, but is well worth the cost. I've tried the other brands and the spuhr is the best by far.
