Iam looking to buy a non restricted semi auto, Thoughts are sl8 and xcr, but instead of trying to sort through all the fan boy mixed reviews, I would rather get some hands on. So If some one has either of these rifle and live near Barrie, and wouldnt mind lettting some one try it. Let me know. I would provide my own ammo if necissary, along with some beer like compensation.

thanks
Dylan

I just picked up a 6.8 XCR this week. I took it to the range yesterday with some factory hornady ammo. I was expecting 4-6" groups based on the review, but was happy with the 2" groups I was producing. Hopefully I can get it down to an inch once my 85 gn barns come in.

I have owned both and sold both, but would choose the XCR. If I was to get another XCR (probably will) I would get a XCR-m or 6.8. It feels like a big rifle, 223 doesn't do it justice.

Ive owned both, only one now resides in my safe - the XCR .223 & .6.8 wont be buying another rifle, if I do it will most likely be the XCR-M.

I said in another post simular to this, while the SL-8 is an excellent rifle and damn accurate its too heavy and lumpy to be hinking through the woods with it for any long period of time and after market accessories cost an arm/leg and first born.

I get .75" groups @ 100yards with both the .223 & 6.8SPC from the bench

IMHO Id go the XCR

Thanks for weighing in guys. Still I would really rather wait until I have had hands on both of them before I make a decision. And as for weight, it is no concern of mine. If I dont find anybody willing to let me take there for a test drive. I might have to buy both and sell the lesser

Aftermarket accesories are more widely availabel for the XCR. Let alone the availability of mags... XCR for sure.
