I'm considering backordering this product from RKS - hey, it's an OEM solution to the STANAG mag question. Problem is, it apparently only works with select AR mags. I really only run PMAGS and LAR's, and I know it will run with PMAGS as someone got that confirmation from RKS and posted it i nthe SL8 infor thread, but will it work with LAR15's?

If not, I might as well go to Speer G36 mags if I'll be limited to 5 rds. Or order the newer style NEA adaptor.

I have an AR mag well adaptor now, of an un-known make (slab-sided with a clear anodized catch) that came on my SL8, but it is the older type of block that does not work with the OEM bolt catch and I want to replace it.

As a secondary point, if anyone has a line on Spuhr adaptors I'd be just as happy with a line on buying those. Coretac is being ignorant and won't sell one to me unless I'm LEO/Mil or come with a HUGE order, and Spuhr in Sweden is not answering any of my attempts to contact them.

Not fussed either way - the two units are functionally identical and about the same price. Worst case, I can order a newer NEA adaptor as well - in general are ppl having problems with the NEA part and the bolt holdopen working? Cuz if yes, I already have an adaptor with no BHO function and would not want to buy another similar unit.

I'm not sure if NEA makes the adapter any more. Some retailers may have some.

I have not tried the HK version, but I think the HK magwell should work with the LAR mags without any issues as they are standard metal design. The only issue is some of the aftermarket polymer mags. As you said PMags work fine.

As an update, spuhr got back to me today after I had given up on hearing from them and they will ship to me directly. Total cost after shipping was $350 Cdn and they prefer (FRAUD ALERT) for payment in Swedish currency.

Likely there will be some CBSA charges, but I'm looking forward to the new stanag mag adaptor in lightweight polymer including the spuhr extended bolt release they include to guarantee proper bho function.

PS: SFRC still has a couple NEA adaptors for those still looking for a cheaper $150 solution. Supposedly these newer ones work good, but are not ambi and are heavier than polymer versions.
