Hi guys,

I'm thinking of picking up either the Benelli Super Nova or Nova. I'm concerned about slamfiring on these, as I have an old Ithaca 37 that does it and I'm not a big fan of the concept.

Does anybody know if either of the Benellis can slamfire or is that a thi ng of the past?

as far as i know it's a thing of the past. most guns today have a disconnecter on the trigger group , requiring you to release the trigger between shots. i have an ithaca 37 DOM 1948 that does slam fire and another one DOM 1974, that has a disconnecter and doesn't slam fire.

I have a Nova and shoot it alot.
it is used for all my waterfowl hunting and sportingclay shoots.
since it is synthetic stock and super tuff it is not treated that nice in the duck blind.

I have never had a single problem with the gun in any respect. the action is super fast and smooth and WILL NOT slamfire.

excellent choice.

Yeah, the nova will not slamfire.

when it fires the pump goes completely slack, and the trigger will not reset until the pump is fully forward again.
