Hi,
I was given a Slavia 620 air rifle, probably from the 70's.
It still shoots pretty hard. I was wondering how they stack up to the 630/631?
Does anyone here have any idea? KD

can't answer your question but i had a slavia (a 631 i think) when i was 13 and shot 100's of sparrows, pigeons, and gophers with it. lots of fun. interestingly enough, i traded it in a for a shotgun from the bay when i was 14. no parents needed, took the pellet gun int the shopping mall, traded it for a shotgun plus 10$ cash, and walked out the mall with a single shot 12 guage under my arm, and then rode my 10 speed home with the gun strapped to my back.

boy, you try doing that today and swat would be on your ass quicker than s**t to a blanket. how things have sadly changed.

Man, those were the days.
Yes, things have changed, it's like Mom's have taken over the world.KD

I have one as well. I got it handed down to me from my father. No safety and shoots very accurate and strong. I put it up against a paintball radar gun and got 420fps out of it. The leather piston is a little wore, but i've taken out rabbits with it.

It's the best air rifle I've ever owned.

I have a 620 Slavia that I bought over 30 yrs ago and it still works great.I fired it over a chrony one time , about a foot from the chrony and I was getting readings as high as 535 fps.MY first pellet gun in 1967 was a 624, which was a smaller version, and it is still in my gun cabinet, but no longer works.Great pellet guns. My younger brother had a 620 also , and shot it till it would no longer spit the pellets out more than 15 or 20 ft!!! Not sure what ever became of thet gun !!!

The Slavia 618-620 series are rated for around 310-350 FPS ,but after fixing a 618 for my nephew we cronied it at 470 FPS!!! these are solid guns that are worth saving. They are all machined metal, no potmetal or stampings like the Chineese guns, have solid 177 cal. barrels. Comparison to the Slavia 630-31 series is not fare as the 618-20 were built for children in mind and the 630-31 are a more adult size air rifle that shoots about 100 FPS more in velocity, either way there both great guns for differrent times in your life!, best regards Dale in T-Bay
