Does anyone know where or if I can get a single shot sled to take the place of a Savage 12 SA detachable magazine? Something like the "fred sled" is what I'm looking for. I emailed SSS, they won't ship here. I want to be able to use either the sled or magazine with ease.

Has anyone modified a magazine to create a sled on top, and care to share how?
 
I have CDI single shot AICS blocks but nothing for the factory Savage mag.

Easy enough to make one from a small piece of wood and insert into the factory mag. Just need a hollow in the middle. The center feed lips will keep the case from rolling off the side.

I have also use the Score Hi single shot follower. These were designed for the older staggered feed mag but they will glue and/or tape into the action opening on center feed actions. Unfortunately, too bulky to put into the mag or for the mag to seat with it in place.

But you could also grind this alum follower to suit.
