Is storing a handgun with the slide locked back bad for the pistol? The case for my Beretta 92fs is to small for a trigger lock so I have to use a cable.
short answer - no, spings "wear out" from bein cycled over and over, not from being left with tention on them, you will be fine id cable it and slowly lower the slide down onto the cable so it takes up less space tho
Some may argue that over time the spring would suffer some compression from being stored with the slide locked back, however as mentioned just put the cable lock thru and slowly release the slide forward so its not compressed.
