I need a better slide lube. I use CLP but it seems to disappear from the slide half way thru my practice sessions. I've tried other brands, even tried white lithium grease on the rails and lugs (messy) and SlideGlide (what was I thinking).........So, has anyone found a good lube that will hang in there on the rails and lugs for 400 to 500 rounds?

Well, I would like to know the firearm you're using the CLP on and maybe the ammo you prefer too. I have used Break-free/CLP for great results on my Sig P29R and my TRP Operator with the lube still being there, if a bit dirty after a range session.

Many people use too little or the wrong type of lube on their IPSC handgun.
often I can repair a malfunctionig pistol by simply lubing it properly.

The best lube to use all round is a high quality synthetic such as Amsoil or Elf race lube. This is available from some accessory suppliers in small bottles.
Be sure to use enough, whoever tells you to use only a little lube just doesn't know, excess will just fly or drip off.

With a 1911 type (or most others) make sure the rails, both sides are well lubed as well as the disconnector rail and the diconnector itself. Be suer to lube the whole barrel outside especially where the bushing or slide holds the muzzle end and the locking area and above the chamber. Lube the lower locking lugs where the slide stip rubs as well 9 a thicker grease may be used here but is not necessary.
