Anyone know a company in B.C that mills slides?
Looking for a couple suggestions seeing as the only companies that come up from Google is Black Box in Alberta, and two companies in Ontario that only do Glock/Sig/SW slides...
I want a CZ Shadow 1 worked on

Any help would be awesome👍

I'd be curious as well, but my search in BC came up empty. Dlask used to do it but they are no longer interested in low dollar, one off jobs (as of a year ago according to Leigh)

Black Box seems to do a lot so they will likely have more templates on hand, and more experience with guns other than the standard Glocks and Sigs which account for the vast majority of jobs. Tac Ordinance in Ontario and Alberta Tactical would be options.

Joseph Wu. He was actually the only person to mill CZ Shadows, where Dlask and BBC did not. He doesn't push the refinishing like BBC. Which only does it for their ego, and worried about what people think if they sell the gun.

Any machinist (a real one, not an imaginary one who usurps the title) with a milling machine can do it.

Having the drawing of the particular optic footprint is very helpful, should be able to find that online. But it's not hard to measure the optic and make a sketch to work from.

But, having said that, some place that does this regularly could bang off one quickly and would have a CNC program ready to go.

Key is getting it perfect so the holes are in the slide rails.

What Joepsh did was machine the slide. So it accepts S2 optic plates. But some modification to the plate needs to be done. Since upgraded the mounting screws from m3 to 6-40.. and the extractor pin is in a slightly different location.

So you can swap down the road. Plus he made me a cover plate with my rear sight.

I think due to the S1 width only some holosun can be directly mounted to the slide, without the need of a plate.

Personally I'd go with an optic with a rear sight notch in it.

With a Vortex Venom and Joesph Wu made plate.

And The Riton and modified S2 plate.

Kamlooky has a guy who does milling on Winchester .22 bolt rifles.
Not sure if this helps, but reach out to looky and get some contact info and if the guy is willing and legally able to assist in this quest.

Is BBC still pushing the refinishing thing? In case you sell it. Never understood them, it's my gun I'm the customer. always seemed like a poor excuse for a cash grab. Wonder what they say now that you cant sell it?

Reading with interest as I have a similar thread regarding my Glock. OK I notice you have both a Venom and Riton. I’m considering them as my option. Do you have a preference of one over the other?

The venom had to go in for repair. Due to breaking a battery contact and the replacement, the cover would not stay tight. I havent used the Riton enough to say it's better. But I wanted something with the rear sight notch and 3 moa that wasnt the price of a DP.
