I managed to mess up my slide, my adjustable sight screw snapped off in the slide.
No problem tried to drill out screw, drill broke. Got drill out decided to tap for 8-32 and refit sight.
Tap broke. Got that out now have a hole into firing pin hole.

Now I am thinking that there is a lot of pistols out there that can not be sold.
However there may be some money in selling a slide and other usable bits.

Even tips on repairing slide would be helpful as it is not completely destroyed yet.

Thanks

Can you send it to a machinist and get it milled for a different style of sights? Maybe mill it flat for a red dot sight, it’s a norinco so I assume it doesn’t have much historical value, just some thoughts

Sure that is a real possibility, however with the current gun laws, there may be someone out there who would like to recover something from their guns, before the rcmp takes them away.
I may be cheaper than milling.

there was recently an auction with a bunch of pistols.... well parts of a bunch of pistols :(

every thing but the frames and revolvers were chopped :(

I got a few magazines

but some people are wanting to get rid of their handguns and selling them as parts is an option they decided to take

you need to keep your eyes open

The slide is on its way to a gunsmith. The local guy couldn't do it but knew a guy who he felt was up to the task. So new adjustable rear sight and dovetail set lower in slide, fill the hole where my tap failed and broke 3 times. That steel is really hard ya know.
And a new wider front sight to better fill the slot in the rear sight.
Maybe when it comes back I can see some 10-x in my future.
