slightly confused with reloading info

My only issue is the wide range of max loads from the different sources.

Im running these rounds into an AR running at a 2.260 OAL.
dominion primers
mixed brass

Thinking I may start at 24.5, 25 and 25.5 and see how they shoot and group.

Those 3 charge weights are a good place to start. I would load up to 27 gr and shoot 5 of each for function and group. In fact, I did that today. I found I had to bring the 26.5s home because the 26 look like flat primers and grouping opened up.

I set my COAL to 2.245" to make sure all the rounds fit the mags. You don't want a long round binding up the magazine.

I've made it!!!!!

Those who need to be told exactly what to do to be comfortable find reloading challenging.

And they will never be true hand loaders, but simply robots, well trained to follow instructions.
Sign of the times. You must be an old fart from when you experimented and figured things out for yourself.
Sorry for the hijack but I have just received my greatest complement on CGN. Quoted by H4831 and Ganderite in the same thread. Made my day.
OP, I didn't mean to be harsh, just trying to help you understand the difficulty in giving absolute instructions when making custom ammunition. It was/is something I still have to remind myself of.

FWIW, my normal load for my AR ended up at 26.5 of BL-C(2). It chrono'd about 100 fps less than Federal AE factory stuff, so it's a nice moderate load and I can use mixed brass without worrying. As others have said, work up, but 26.5 works for me.
