Looking for a simple sling for my 10/22 to attach to lower sling swivels.
This rifle has a wood stock, so nothing tacticool looking.
Also don't need to spend a tonne of cash.. that's for my tacticool one :)

not too sure what material to look for..
Any suggestions? considerations..

cheaper yet- maybe- get a couple of sling loops ( detachable) and a couple of keepers and a length of nylon webbing from campers village- last i looked it was about 50 c a foot for 1.5 inch

I go with leather on all my slings, the range from 20 to 30 dollars.
Abit bulker and take up abit more room, but seem to last longer for me, but i guess its a personal preference.

nylon seems to wear out too fast for me.

on the other hand , i've got slings from m60s on ALL my rifles, and they've been around since nam- i use the webbing from campers whenever i need a belt or anything- but it's campers bulk, NOT COUGLANS- if you want to go leather, there's several good shops around just get belt leather or 1 inch strap leather- availabl;e at tandy

I like those neoprene/soft padded with straps made of nylon webbing. Some are soft, some styles feel like they're filled with air pockets. Either way, they seem to have a side that grips your clothes better for less slipping, and are around $35-$40. Giving the "sling" think serious consideration right now, just bought a new .223...and it's allot heavier than my rimfires. :)

those ones look pretty comfortable, I think I'll probably go that way..
What'd you buy in .223? I was on the last waiting list for an SU16, but when it finally came in, I didn't have the cash for it after a reasonably expensive Summer :(

1" oil tanned leather strap from Tandy Leather plus a pkge brass rivetts. Simple, inexpensive, very strong, looks good, you get exactly what you want, and will last two life times.

Ended-up getting a Savage Precision 10 Carbine. :)

More than what's required as a groundhog buster, but once I saw one of these and did some research, I was hooked on the idea. A Stevens would have done the job though, and I've read countless times that they're shooters.
