I tried a vickers 2 point sling with front and rear side mounts. I wanted to try carrying it in front for quick access, but it sits too low. If i tighten up the sling a can't shoulder it without readjusting the length. I think it is too long for a single point sling. Any suggestions about sling position or attachment points? Is there somting I am doing wrong? I would like to be able to move around with may handes free, but still have relative quick access to the gun. For now I have gone back to standard swivel studs and carry it on my weak side barrel down.

There are a few different ways to run the Vickers.

Some keep it tight and then lengthen it when they bring it up to shoot.

Some have it adjusted so they are just able to shoot with it, then lengthen it for shoulder transitions.

Some run it long, then tighten it up when they go hands on, or rappel etc.

As long as it's running over your strong shoulder and under your weak arm you're good.

Let me know if you have any questions or there is anything I can help with.

Yup, running over stong shoulder and under weak arm. I have an issue with my dominant side/eye. I find it awkward to transition from slung to shooting position. That is why I carry week side barrel down with a standard hunting sling. I thought the in front type carry might be better. I will see which one works best. Thanks.
