Sling setup on a 14'' barrel with +1 extension.....

How can I mount a forward sling with this setup??

I have this thing but it does not fit. I'm pretty sure it's a chinese copy although.

Any idea? Anyone use the real thing from Magpul that work? Maybe another brand? It's a Norinco HP9 with S&J +1 extension.

I'd get a 3 way sling mounting plate for the extension. What type of shotgun is it? A call to S&J should get you sorted out.

all of the tubes come with the sling plate.

That magpul attachment you have should be QD. Pull the QD out of it and buy a small QD insert to attach to the side of your magpul forend.

OP,
Several options-
As mentioned purchase a sling plate to fit between the barrel lug & mag tube extension
Install a #10-32tpi sling swivel stud in the extension end cap.
Drill a 3/8* diameter hole in the extension end cap for QD/push button sling swivel
Remove the para clip in the MagPul style mag tube clamp for QD/push button sling swivel
Purchase an MLok QD sling attachment piece to attach to the side of the fore end & more your light to the RH side w/ pressure/click switch activation.

If confused or mechanically challenged...as mentioned...a piece of para cord or Loop Attachment.

Sling plate would be the best for function and looks, but a QD cup throughly end of the extension would work well also. I’ve done the same with a QD cup on the mag tube nut on a 12.5” barrel. Then there’s mounting the sling off the forend but that would be my last choice, I prefer a fixed point that won’t move while pumping the action.

See below in red, i think it goes where the arrow points. i installed the +1 but don’t have a need for the sling plate or ring, if S&J can confirm it would be compatible (mine was the Benelli, not sure if only the extension is different and the plate is universal?),

I have run sling plates and swivel in mag cap assembly on several short barreled shotguns over the years. When slinging the shotgun the sling swivel thru mag cap is much more comfortable *for me*.

Depending on your torso size, you may find the sling plate digging in to you as you move, especially if you are hiking wearing a light outer shell or no jacket at all. This only seems to bother me with short barreled shotguns like 12 & 14" barrels. Your experience may be different........

If it's mostly a range toy then it makes no difference in the big scheme of things.

I have some sling swivel threaded cup. I think I will thread the mag extension to put one of those. Thanks for the advice!!
