Has anyone had their slr sets cerakoted? My sets were anodized but I'm interested in a different colour but not sure how things would turn out given how tight the tolerances are. Would adding cerakote would make things significantly worse?

It goes on pretty thin but if the holes are already tight it will make things worse. You could always just ream the holes afterwards to get things back together.
I would probably try to open the holes a little before coating, just enough to have it go together after coating without having to break the coating to get it together. Cerekote is very hard and also has a little lubricity to it so having the coating inside the holes on the friction areas is a plus.

Properly applied CeraKote should not make any difference. By properly applied I am meaning all of the holes plugged before the CeraKote is applied. Given the number of guys #####ing how tight the magwells are I would suggest having that area masked off as well as the internals to prevent a dimensional change. CeraKote should only add about .002" to the surface but in pin holes that are tight anyway that could be a real issue and getting CeraKote out of small holes is a royal PITA

I paid for them to do reinstall the bolt catch and mag release and warned them it was tight. It was only the bolt catch that was tight everything else was decent

Post the results. Im curious to see what it looks like.

The factory anodizing is disappointing. The SLR is disappointing.

I’m planning on having my SLR coated. My plan is to assemble first and open any holes and make any mods I need first. Then disassemble and have it coated then carefully reassemble it.
