Well I'm waiting for some parts to load up some 7.62x54r so I get on a "slugfest" with some of my other rifles.
Kind of interesting, (esp after I re-zeroed my Calipher).
Breda Garand 0.310 1mm wide groove and a 0.302 land
No 4 Longbranch 0.314 10mm wide groove and 0.305 land
1891/30 Mosin 0.312 2mm wide groove and 0.304 land
I then snapped my wodden dowel driver and ended the slugfest.
I was surprised to see how wide the groove was on my Longbranch, totally the opposite fo the Breda and Mosin. Oddly enough though, each seems to have about 0.008 to 0.009" difference in the L&G. Any science behind this or is this just luck.
I also took down my Christmas lights but that was not as interesting to me as this...
