So I'm going deer hunting tomorrow, I usually bring my 308 and Win 30-30. My father wants me to bring my Remington 870. I currently have a full choke on it, can I fire slugs without damaging the choke? I also intend to buy a buckshot, any recomendations are appreciated regarding slugs and buckshot. I have a 26" barrel, no deer rifled barrel.

I'm a bit of a novice regarding these issues.

Thanks

Improved Cylinder I recommend but "full" or "modified" choke tubes are just fine for foster slugs, and buck shot.

I have shot rifled foster slugs through everything from a cylinder to full choke, no problems. The rifling in the slug is actually there to allow the slug to swage down when shooting through a choke, rather than spin the slug to stabilize it.
