Hi everyone. First post on this forum. I'm fairly new to shotguns, and wondered if I could use slugs in my Winchester 37A single shot 20 Gauge? It's a smooth barrel, and I believe it to be full choke, but not too sure:( I use it for grouse, and it does a great job, but want to know if i would be ok using slugs occasionally....something like Rem "Sluggers" 1/2 oz high velocity.
Thanks for your advice .

Slugs for 20 gauge

Thanks 04 rubicon. I heard that you shouldn't use slugs in a full choke, but I think that was meant for the "choked" shotguns with different chokes...yes?
I was told that mine probably had a full choke, but it was a "fixed" full choke, which would be ok for rifled slugs. Does that make sense to you?
Thanks John.

Go right ahead...I've used them dozens of times in my single 37a and cooey 84's...Full choke is fine for rifled slugs, I wouldn't advise using sabot slugs though..As their are mainly meant to be fired out of a rifled barrel. But go ahead and use the regular "foster style" rifled slugs and have some fun!!

you are good to go with your full choke just buy rifled slugs thy will spin them selfs down the pipe DUTCH
