I don't like paying $15-$20 for five sabot slugs, and after a lot of searching on the interweb, I havn't been able to find what I am looking for. I have also poked around on here and gotten some useful info about brands of factory sabot slugs other then Remington and Federal. But these other brands are also up there in price.

Now, I reload shotshell, so I got to thinking that if I could find either: A) slugs that I can load into standard wad cups for use in my rifled barrel, or B) sabots/wads that would allow me to use muzzeloader bullets (.45 or .50cal) to the same effect.

Has anyone ever heard about anything like either of those? I know that Lee and Lyman make molds for casting slugs to be used in standard wad cups, but I don't want to get into casting as its dirty and I would have to invest in all that equipment. I've also gone so far as to email Hornady and ask them A) and B), and all I got was, "That might come in time if we feel the consumer can load the slugs without a problem."

Am I just pissing up a rope or is there hope?

I have a 12 ga, but I have also been thinking about going to a 20ga slug gun.

I don't think anyone in Canada stocks the .50 12 gauge sabot. (I could be wrong)
Some people sell the Lee or Lyman slugs so you wouldn't have to cast them yourself.
