Hey guys, I'm looking at a new shorty shottie for general use, grouse and bear defense, lots of Yogis out and about where I hike\hunt a lot.

i was thinking of gettting the 14" dominion when it arrives as I believe it will take a choke, keeping the grouping a little tighter for grouse.

But can you empty a mag full of slugs with a choke in?

I have put the odd slug through my Remmy with a 26" barrel but not sure if rapid firing them will damage the barrel (or me!)

any thoughts?

It isnt that great of idea if they are skrew in chokes. If its an intergrated choke it wont bother it except the recoil will be a little heavier but not much.

With screw in chokes, I'd think it's better to use a choke then not. If you took out the screw in choke, wouldn't the rifled slug hurt the choke threads. I've just always heard it's best to use a choke with rifled slugs, helps with accuracy, gives the slug rifling something to grab onto.

Screw in chokes are fine with slugs. I've shot many slugs through mine and at full speed too. Shooting a choke-tubed gun without a tube installed isn't a good idea.
