The other day I was happily popping away with my 22 LR Mauser at a fair distance. The next day was forecasted little to no winds, so I planned another range trip. Unfortunately later that evening I bumped the scope out of alignment and this was readily apparent when I pulled the trigger on the second trip. Because the bolt handle has to clear optics, the scope has to be mounted very high to clear it. The scope rings are one inch Weaver, and I'm pretty darn sure they are aluminum. The receiver has those typical parallel grooves. I want to upgrade the rings to something a little sturdier such as steel.
Can anyone make an decent suggestion here or run into a similar issue?
