I am new to reloading and I have noticed some small dents in my once fired brass. The dents are usually about midway up the case and they are not large dents. I think the dents are from the spent casings hitting the concrete pad or adjacent shooting benches at the range. I am shooting an M4 and a Mini 14. I know the Mini really chucks the casing out whereas the M4 is a bit gentler. I just want to make sure that reloading the casings with small dents is O.K. Thanks all.

The dent is most likley from the mini as they have a fixed ejector rather than the sping loaded ejector of the AR, that means the case gets a little bigger kick as the bolt comes back and hits the side of the receiver as it leaves!

LOL. I got hit by the guy beside me about 100 times when he was shooting his Mini 14--he also let me have his brass (not a reloader). They all had the little dent you're talking about, and have served me well.

could also be from too much lube on the case when sizing or a small peice of dirt or dust in the sizing die

Its definitely caused by the mini-14, seen it before.
People have fire-formed worse .

Swiss Arms do the same thing. No issues - reload at will!
the dent is from the Case Deflector on the m4 and mini. most semi's dent cases with the way they extract and eject. they ether have a deflector or use the edge of the reciever to deflect the case away from the shooter which causes a dent in the case. no big deal. shouldent cause feeding problems when reloaded.
