Anybody know where can I purchase Winchester Small Pistol Primers in GTA???

I've been out of Small pistol primers for a while.

Waited for Lebaron for 3 months and they still can't get it.

Are there any other places I can buy them. Preferred a close distance. No more than 1 hour driving time...

Thanks for your help.:D

I prefer Win's, too but will use CCI from LeBaron if they are out.

Haven't had any problems with the CCI in both Small and Large Pistol, unlike a few duds with their rifle primers.

Hummason's - Ancaster, Hwy 52 (Cope Town) just off 403 - turn left, about the third driveway on the left just after the lights. Look for the shot towers.

They sell powder too !!

Call first before you make the trip

Good luck - SD

This is way too far for me...I am at Markham area...

They have CCI now, but I'm using progressive machine and they recommand not to use CCI or it will jam.

Any other places you can suggest??

Everyone was out of small pistol primers in my area as well, so I ordered 3000 from SIR in Winnipeg. No PST since it was an out of province purchase, shipping was less then the PST (I made the order worthwhile!)would have been locally.

I do order from SIR for other reloading components.

But the primers are considered explosive. SIR will charge extra to ship explosive by a special carrier.

Williams in Port Perry. I bought Winchester there two wks ago. Anything they don't have they will get for you. Good folks to deal with and a pleasant back road drive to get there.

Jam with CCI? Really? Ok, if the maker of your machine says so. Everybody I know uses them once in a while (except for those who only use them) with all makes of machines.

I only heard Win and CCI being recommended because they are supposedly safer to use.

I just was told not to use them in my 1911 (with WinNT cases) after changing to a lighter spring but it still works.

Well I didn't get a comparative shipping rate for Canada Post to see if it was extra or not since CP won't ship primers, but since I needed the primers and no one in Ottawa had them it seemed the logical way for me to go.

Still cheaper than driving anymore... And the shipping will be the same for 1000 or 5000 primers, so buy extra.

Or try Gagnons in Oshawa.

Mailorder from Higginson Powders.....Andrew's a fine lad and his prices are excellent. Shipping to the GTA should be reasonable.

I am living in Markham,Ontario as well. Been to LeBaron lately and they told me the back order of Winchester small pistol primers is due to the war. Winchester is making ammunition for the army, military;therefore, have no time to care about the citizen's needs as well as Canada. We may have to wait for a while before they care to ship some to us in Canada. :(

Lebarons has been out of primers for the last 4 years.. LOL..

they never know when they are getting more in.. then never know how much they have ordered, even when the do get some, they go dry again in about 2-3 days.. they limit you 2000 per purchase..

you have to call twice a week and you may get lucky.. don't bother leaving your name, the never call you back..

Ahh.. It's great not to have to depend on Lebarons any more, when you have 30K primers sitting the basement ;)

Glad I bought a case (5K) of Win large primers when they had it.

I went in asking for 1K of primers, he said hold on and had to go into the back to get some to fill the shelves, I just told him to give me the box cuz I wanted the cardboard and he obliged. No discount tho, as figgured.

Take Highway 7 to Oshawa then North to Port Perry. Williams Arms should be able to help.
