Hello, has anyone had the chance to try out Campro Unis Ginex Small Pistol Primers? Good, bad, useable? See them for a reasonable price and what curious what people's experiences are.
Thx

Used thousands, sold thousands, everything went bang, and no one ever complained. As with many foreign primers (S&B, Dominion, Ginex, Fiocchi etc.) seating them takes a little more oomph; they don't slide right in like Federals. In fact, hardly any primers slide right in these days.

Same $hitty S&B case (I hate S&B brass, but I will use them for .38 +P) and you can see how the Ginex primer on top fills out the pocket ever so slightly more.

I have loaded thousands of them in 9mm luger (Titegroup and BlueDot with Campro 115gr bullets). My 9mm pistol and PCC like them just fine. I believe I have only had one fail to go off.

In two of my 38 Special revolvers (S&W K-Frames) I get at least 1-2 not go "bang" per 12 rounds. I loaded up close to 700 of them previously for PPC League (Alliant Bullseye with lead 158gr SWC) and I have been disappointed. Once this batch is done I will only use other brands (Remington, Federal, Winchester) for my revolver.

I have not tried them in small pistol primer 45acp or small pistol primer 10mm.

YMMV

Have you lightened the trigger on that revolver? My revolver will only ignite Federal. I use those +P in my new lever (5.4gr Unique under 158gr coated lead). It will also ignite that load when I use SRP. None of that works in my revolver.

Pard shooting .38 Spl and .357 had a number of squibs in cold weather.
Charges were middle of the road min/max using Titegroup as well as CFE Pistol.
Lots of unburned powder in action after the squibs.
We'll try them again in warm weather.

I personally have done nothing to these revolvers with respect to the trigger. Never had a problem in the past, but previously I used mainly Remington 1-1/2 primers or Federal SPP, depending what was on sale at my local store. During the zombie apocalypse I switched to the Ginex/Campro as that was all I could find. I have not done any "scientific" tests, just doing lots of reloading and shooting (Bullseye League, PPC league, Action Pistol, 2-Gun, 3-Gun, Steel shoots, etc). All fun!

I have loaded about 20k+ of them. I find in 9mm anything that had a crimp or s&b need to have the crimp cut out or chamfered slightly to make them seat easier. Running them on a xl650 as fast as I can pull the handle will crush a few here and there if I don’t give the case a slight chamfer. They are also harder to seat in a case. I have had one fail to fire but found it wasn’t in the case far enough. Once I pushed it in more round went bang.

Buy and use with confidence.

They've been working fine for me, when I seat them all the way to depth lol. Like others have said, they go in a little stiff, so you just need to make sure you seat them all the way. High primers usually mean light strikes. A DA gun can just hit them again and usually set them off, but ideally they go bang the first time.
