Arrrgh mateys!
I have plenty of 9mm cases to load.
The powder in hand is Titegroup.
Arrrgh, gots no small pistol primers in the chest.
Methinks using CCI Small Rifle Magnum I found on a deserted wreck.
What say you buccaneers?

i was in the same boat , googled it , majority said yup they work just fine .... used them in my 357 mag ... over half never fired till the second try .... some say harder cup for rifle .... who knows , i would wait till you get more small pistol again ... just my opinion

When I sold my AR, I had several thousand small rifle primers. I've used them in my 9 mm's and S&W model 52. I got one misfire every 100-200 rounds and those all went off on the second hit.

The small rifle primers with the thinner cups would be best, the .025 would be the hardest. The .025 cups are recommended for the AR15 to prevent slam fires.

i only use SRP's if I can get them. They work well in the 40, and .204 ruger. DO NOT use small rifle MAGNUM's unless you load test first.

SR and SP are the same size. You can use them in a 9mm. BUT, they might not go bang every time, especially in a tuned revolver or a striker pistol.

thanks,
I've read on some other sites that indeed the Magnum small rifle primers that I have might not ignite reliably in a striker pistol and also they may not seal well if the pressure is not high enough causing gas erosion on the slide.
My Steyr might not be the best piece to test this on given the scarcity of parts.

Small rifle primers function reliably in my glock and 1911's when using CCI small rifle. I do not have experience with other brands though.
