Smallbore Silhouette Shooting Rifle Weight

Is there an ideal weight/set-up for a smallbore silhouette rifle?

Given that the discipline requires extended offhand shooting, is it best to go with a sporter or varmint profile
 
Read the rules, there are two classes of rifle that you can compete in, each with their own restrictions for weight, barrel profile, triggers, etc. Whatever is comfortable for you and meets the requirements of the class you intend to shoot in is what you go with. You may use a Hunter class rifle to also compete in standard class, but not vice versa.
