Here is the smallest 5-shot group ever shot in competition in the history of the planet. Yes that is FIVE shots, confirmed by a moving backer. An NBRSA LV class world record, this also beats group size records for ALL other IBS and NBRSA classes -- even railguns. Michael Stinnett shot this in 2013 with his 30 Stewart wildcat based on the 6.5 Grendel necked to .30 caliber.

Under 8 thou; I’ve seen one that looked very similar at my local range, but only to the necked eye. Don was pretty happy with his when I looked at it too. Sometimes we see things that we don’t realize how impressive they are until later.

In 2016, I had posted something I had found on Internet - so, not meaning, in any way, to take away from this .0077" 5 shot group, but there is a shooting discipline in USA using cast bullets, etc. - load the same case over and over again - 10 shot groups at 200 yards: What I posted:

While browsing the web, I found an NRA article here: ht tp://www.castpics.net/subsite2/ClassicWorks/NRA%20Cast%20Sup1.pdf Scroll down to page 10 and read how a Mr. James Walsh, in 1978, broke a 77 year old record of shooting 10 consecutive cast bullets into a .521" group. The previous record was set in 1901 with a 10 shot group of .727" @ 200 yards. Note that these groups were shot in "shoulder to shoulder" competition. Breech loaded cast bullet, the same brass case re-primed and re-charged over and over for the 10 shots, and all completed in 15 minutes.

That web site has some really great old school reference material - free for downloading.
