Before you start going off on me- yes, I did read this thread.
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=672304&highlight=smallest+pistol

But seeing as that thread was a huge attempt (and successful) at mocking the question at hand and questioning the validity of the user- I ask again (and in hopes of not being flamed [flame suit on however] )

What is the smallest Canadian legal handgun, in the restricted category, without doing a barrel swap?

sort of just stumbled on the Glock 26, and I'm actually digging it. I know, I know- some CGNers have pointed out that the 106mm barrel looks ridicuous on this thing, but I sorta like it. The bonus for me, would be than I could use my Glock 17 mags in it :D

Under the local circumstances the smaller and especially the smallest gun doesn't make any sense really. It is usually priced high on top of it. Whatever works for You.

You can, but at that point you have a small framed gun with an extended barrel and a magazine that doesn't sit flush.

That abomination would just look ridiculous.

I'm left wondering what you want it for? Not that its a huge deal but initially you didn't want to do a barrel swap and you haven't decided on either a 22 or 9mm?

FWIW, if I wanted a subcompact, I would be looking at the G26 with stock mags (the G26 mags hold 10). But I'm not totally sold on the subcompact, I might opt for just compact, the G19.

I never said I would actually do it, I just think its neat idea, to be able to run your G17 mags in your G26.

If you want a semi auto there is a Phoenix Arms HP22 on the EE right now. I haven't seen a semi any smaller than this and I have looked!

The actual smallest restricted you can own is a North American Arms Minimaster.

The minimaster is a .22 with bothe a LR and a Magnum cylinder, and there is nothing smaller other than some of the .32 RF antiques!

I have owned one and it was a lot of fun to shoot and reasonably accurate for such a small gun.

Mlehtovaara,i have come to the conclusion that you are a true gun jedi :)

I had a Mini Master and it is a real cute little piece of firearm and is fun to shoot, spent hours and hours to learn how to shoot that little guy. Anyway the hottest looking small gun with factory legal barrel is Sig 239 tac, HK P7M8 is way over priced.

The sig 239 or G26 are the more mainstream choices of course, but the man asked a specific question. ;)

Bond Arms sells a couple of derringers that are legal here ... but you are stuck with two shots. I have an HK P7 PSP and am very satisfied with it even though it is not the smallest.
