Smith and Wesson 14-7 .38 special

hey, I just bought a really nice used S&W 14-7 from my local gun store. Except I can't find anything on the internet about this model, would there be another name for this revolver? I'll try to post some pictures when I get it (in a week or 2) but I need to find a host? will google do that?

There are two or three versions of the Mod. 14. Some have the name "Masterpiece" in them. There's the K-38 Target Masterpiece, the K-38 Heavy Barrel Full Lug, and the K-38 Masterpiece Single Action, which fires only in single-action mode.

Most likely you have the Heavy Barrel Full Lug since the K-38 Target Masterpiece only went through the -4 series of engineering changes. Your 14-7 indicates that this was the first of the Mod. 14 series to utilize MIM parts and the floating firing pin. 14-7 production started in 1998 and ended when the Mod. 14 was discontinued in 1999.
