I am looking for thoughts and opinions on the S&W 952 Performance Center 9mm Target pistol. Has any of my fellow CGN members shot one of these pistols or currently own one? What do you think of it? Is the take down difficult? Has the pistol been reliable and accurate for you? I understand there are four versions; the blued 952 and 952-1 and the stainless 952-2 in both 5" and 6" models?

Just curious.....Thank you for your time.

Phenomenal pistol, I have two 952-2's with 5" barrel. It is as accurate as my SIG P210's which shoot one ragged hole at 15 - 20 yards if you do your part. All stainless so relatively little felt recoil and muzzle lift. Easy disassembly/reassembly after the first time as you have to align the barrel bushing to a slight angle to get the barrel to drop back in. The tolerances are super tight.
I have a couple of model 52's which shoot .38 spl wadcutters, originally designed for bullseye shooting, which are absolute tack drivers and are the reason I bought the 9mm version. The 952 series were modeled after these and came from the Performance Center. No longer in production. If you can find one, buy it, you will not be disappointed. It will run you some substantial $$ though!
Good luck in your search. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.

Thank you very much for taking the time to offer you experiences with the 952 and 52 pistols. Obviously you have been very happy with
their performances and are very happy with them. They sound like fantastic pistols......

I just love those 52's and hope to partake in the future

I have shot the 952 and it is a very sweet and accurate pistol. I own a PPC 9mm semi (6" barrel) from the Performance Center which I believe came after the 952 and is based on the 5906 model. I wish I could shoot it as well as others have demonstrated.
