Smith and Wesson M&P 40, anyone own one, worth buying? Updated #23

I got to shoot one when my buddy took me to a match. It was a great handgun and there were no problems at all. He swears by it. This package is a good deal, you get all the goodies with it and you can't go wrong.

What do you intend to do with the gun? Do you reload? If you are planning to shoot IDPA/IPSC or just want a range gun then the 9MM version might better serve you. 9MM ammo is quite a bit cheaper to buy which means you will get more bang for your buck ie more shooting for the same amount of money spent. If you reload only the cost of bullets will be cheaper if you go 9MM.

The Range Kit in 9MM will be the same price as the .40cal kit and as others have said is an excellent package.

I have the M&P FS in 9MM with a .40cal top end as well as two PROs, one in 9MM and one in .40cal. I do reload.

And Major is funnnnn .. lol .

Did some 5.0-5.5 grain bullseye loads with 175 grain truncated and man did those things pop pretty good , also did some 6.5 grain loads in 180 grain FMJ , blows factory loading away .

Same! First gun I bought, no issues (I don't think it has ever jammed). Of all my guns, this would be the one I would use for home defence (give the cons a few more majority elections...and who knows!!)

Gotta Chime in too. Mine only has about 500 rounds through it, again not one stoppage, it is the gun that the glock should be. every bit as reliable, MORE features, MORE customisable, fully ambi, and tough. Cant say enough good things about them. Cabelas sells extra mags for 40 bucks (in edmonton anyways). Outstanding pistol and R&C kit is an outstanding deal.
