Hello everyone.

I have a chance to buy a very good condition Model 53 in 22 Jet complete with chamber inserts for 22LR and another cylinder chambered in 22 Mag. Handgun is in probably 98% condition, second year of production 1962. 6" barrel.
I will try to post some pictures of it. Comes with original hang tag, manual, cleaning kit etc.

I do not believe the 22 Jet cylinder has ever been used nor the inserts for 22LR

Any help on what a fair value would be on this would be a great help.

Thanks in advance............

How much is the seller asking for it? Tell us and we will go from there:p however if you can get it for around $800 to a grand you are doing ok.

I know I'd be tickled to get it for $800-1000. And if I really wanted it and had some cash to burn, I'd probably go a bit north of there. It's not exactly common. My Standard Catalogue of Smith & Wesson (pg 217-218) puts the value of a 3 screw Model 53 ANIB at $800 USD, $600 for EX. Add $150 for .22 Magnum cylinder. Looks like yours would fall somewhere between there, so the $800-1000 CDN price range seems very fair. But I want it now. Damn you. Of note, the Catalogue also states:

''A special cardboard box was provided for the "Jet" with cardboard punch-outs for the auxiliary cylinder, cylinder inserts and gun outline (tools optional)."

Do you have that box? Add $100.....

And, if by chance you have an earlier 4 screw model, you can add $200 on as well.
