Smith and Wesson MP 2.0 9MM Compact in Canada?

Saw a post about this in CGN from 2017 with no real answers. Does anyone know if this is coming?

S&W had a recall on the EZs. Releasing the slide chambering a round would cause the round to fire without pulling the trigger. The hammer wouldn’t properly engage the sear.
Also prohib.

Wih a replacement barrel, it could be brought in. I have seen M&P compact 1.0 for sale on the EE here with a longer barrel.

Wow didn't know about the defect. Yea aware that there prohib. They would have to provide a 106mm barrel for it or someone would have them made. I know S&W has made many guns Canadian compliant but the market for this would be low so likely no joy.

What S&W should do and if you agree write S&W. Put their FS slide on to a Compact frame. You then have the equivalent of the Glock 19 with all the benefits of the S&W grips in a ergodically improved package. It would be IDPA CCP legal as well. This would beat filing down the mag bases in order to meet CCP Division size requirements.
