The SEI 5.56mm Muzzle Brake is designed for extremely rapid follow-up shots. This time-proven design,
with its 14 gas ports is painstakingly made from heat treated 4140 chrome moly steels and provided in a
manganese phosphate finish. The SEI 5.56mm NATO Muzzle Brake is not compatible with the SEI
M4DC Sound Suppressor, which requires the use of the Vortex DC Flash eliminator, P/N 1001V.
SPECS: M4/M16 Muzzle Brake – 8620 chrome moly steel, heat-treated, black parkerized per MIL SPEC.
Diameter 0.860 inches (in), Length 2.000 in., Jam Nut length 0.200 in. Wrench Flats are cut for 3/4 inch
wrench. Weight, with Jam Nut 0.22 of a lb. Threaded 1/2 X 28 TPI (RH).

OMG!!!
I just installed this on my AR15 and there is NO muzzle rise while banging of the 10 round mags as fast as I can!!!
Just thought I would share this with anyone that was sitting on the fence thinking about one. I think I am...

Had one of those & they are loud!!...No offence but who needs a brake on a .223???

Maybe on CQB applications, but that would be about it.
 
If you think the SEI brake is impressive for rise and recoil reduction, check this out.
Made in Canada of 4150 heat treated CM steel and parkerized.

These brakes have been proven to 100% eliminate the rise, even when the rifle is on full auto. These brakes are not as loud to the shooter as the SEI is.
And being made right here in Canada are readily available.
Please note the SEI brake is very good, I am not for an instant claiming they are not very good, we sell them as well, but in side by side comparison testing , ours were superior in eliminating muzzle climb.

I have the smith brake on my M14, got it from ATR. It is astounding, I see my target impacts all the time, there is minimal recoil on my M14 shooting 167gn bullets, at 2600fps. It is a great brake.

The PWS is even more effective - the baffles blow gas back towards the shooter pulling the gun forward , and blow upwards as well to pull the barrel down.
Simple physics makes it THE most effective (AND LOUDEST) brake on the market.
The .556 also has flash hiding capabilities.
Shown is the .308 version.

You are basing this statement on ......... ?

You done any scientific and/or repeatable testing on various muzzle brakes? You can point us to a published scientific test of various muzzle brakes? You have some kind of test data to back up your statements?

Or are you just talking out of your ass cause you think the PWS looks cool and you have one yourself?

Inquiring minds want to know ......

Yes we tested - and measured - the PWS had less measured muzzle rise and and the rifle didnt travel as far rearward . The second best was the limited production side baffle DLASK .308 brake.
Similar results on AR's and CZ 858's.
Curiously the PWS style DLASK brake for the 858 was not as effective as the INFRATEK - DLASK side baffle brake, but we figured it was because the PWS style brake has .223 sized baffles and the .762x39 needs another slot for the extra gas.
If you put a PWS on an AR - you will immediatly notice the difference - Its like shooting a .22 rimfire.
Double taps on a 10 " AR can go into one hole - like last week when one of my CQB trainees , who never fired an AR did several one hole double taps.
By the way - the PWS brakes are expensive !
There is a side baffle AR brake on EE that is 90 % of the PWS and MUCH cheaper. It is the style that Walt at ARMS EAST put on the TDSA shorties he made up for us, and is the Jerry Micelek style brake available from Brownells.
 
We have not tested our brakes against the PWS, but have against the SEI and Miceluk and Holland and recoil and muzzle lift with ours was significantly less than those we trialed ours against.
In fact we had to alter our ports as we were getting negative recoil, meaning the rifle was pulling forward and down in sustained full auto bursts

Looking at the PWS brake I can not see how they could be efficient, due to the lack of surface area left on the baffles but can not say with authority not having tried 1.

Please excuse my schepticism but HOW did you measure the recoil reduction? Is this a consistent and reproducible testing method?

It is just that I hear all kinds of people making all kinds of claims on the internets and the vast majority of the time it is all BS.
