Just browsed their website & they will ship anything except suppressors...Anybody dealt with these guys in the past? Prices & service is ok? Let us know what you got from them also...

I recently bought two Smith M-14 scope mounts from them, just called them up and gave them my credit card info. They shipped about a week later and sent by US Postal Service so I wouldn't get raped with UPS brokerage fees.

Very good service overall, and a buddy of mine also ordered a scope mount from them around the same time with no problems at all.

Yes they are very good company to deal with and they do ship to Canada but ship via Federal Express $$$$ only so I was told by Mr Smith himself

M14 Gas Cylinder Precision Shim Kit

M14 Scope Mount, Wire EDM, NSN 5855-01-506-5750

M14 US Coast Guard Muzzle Brake OR Vortex M14 Flash Suppressor

Need to go through Canadian supplier?

Like you guys, I'm excited that they are now shipping to Canada. Does that mean they have satisfied the military demand for their products and are now coming back to satisfy civilian demand?

Two questons:

1. Funny, I thought I read that Smith required Canadian orders to go through their Canadian supplier - now I can't find the reference. So, they'll do it direct?

2. Does anybody know if the M14 muzzle brake is a screw on or does it use a set screw to tighten onto the barrel? From the pic, it looks like the latter. I currently have a Vortex muzzle brake installed which I would like to move to my other Norc.

Thanks.

Well I just called them. "Will you ship to Canada?" Their response "Brownells will, go through them, they carry our stuff and will export it"

Not exactly cheery and helpful if you ask me.

The Direct Connect version does not require the castle nut, it just screws right on. It eleiminates the front sight, so you will need a gas-lock mounter front sight.

I can't answer question 1...but The Smith muzzle brake uses a castle nut to secure it.

Do the threads match the Norinco threads though?

Is there a surcharge that Brownell's charges for this 'exporting service'?

This is what is said in their homepage now:

Canadian orders:
We are now fulfilling civilian orders to Canada for all items except sound suppressors. Approved barrel configurations for shipment to Canada are forthcoming.
