Use your original metric castle nut and it will fit just fine.

The one in the Pic is not made for the M14.............It is made for Bolt guns..........

The difference is the first 1" or so of the DC M14 Vortex is not threaded..........unlike the bolt gun version.

To fit a DC Vortex on a Norc barrel, get a standard USGI castle nut and simply screw it on and off to "chase" the threads for the Vortex.Make sure you keep the castle nut square when doing this.

This will work as I have done it to several Norc barrels going back two or more years.............:D never had a problem with ithe Vortex loosening off...............

SEI DC Vortex on my old 18.75" barrel KISS M14 ("keep it simple stupid").......:D

Holy s**t you can even fit airsoft can on afterwards?

Ok to be clear, I buy a USGI castle nut, and by screwing it on I change the threads to SAE form metric. Then I screw '2000V M14 Direct Connect (DC) Vortex Flash Eliminator' on and I'm good to go?

1) Yes.:D Got it over on Airsoft Canada.

2) Yes. Good to go.................AS I stated above, just be careful when using the Castlenut as a die..............make sure you are threading it on square, and use cutting oil to make the job easier.

If you're doing a SOCOM/Scout conversion as stated you can use the direct connect FH and just get the barrel threaded when it's cut down.
