Smith mounting problem

Anyone else have an issue with the Smith mount stripper clip guide part not fitting in the slot on the rifle? The Smith Guide part only slides in halfway. I take it that the Norc is the culprit that's out of spec.

turn the piece 180 degree, or try to slide it by the other end the the slot. sometimes it enter a way and not the other. Well that was the case with mine.

Thanks, I tried to flip it and from both sides and it was the same situation. grrr, you spend the big bucks on a mount and now this.

No problem on mine. It fit much looser than the original guide and could easily be moved side to side. You definately want it to move freely so that it doesn't prevent the mount from being fully mated to the side of the receiver.

well just file a bit the stripper clip guide lightly with fine wet sandpaper until it move freely

It's not just with the Smith mounts. I have had the same issue with my last M14 with a totally different brand of mount.
Like godgab suggested, I had to file a portion of the stripper clip guide.

Quattro, which mount model do you have?

I did not have any problems with their 2006 model.
It fit perfectly without any modifications or hammer.

2006 mount. I filed a bit of the receiver dovetail and the Smith Mount block slid in nice and easy. Thanks.
