Ok - so I have done my research and sounds like the Smith 2024 mount is the way to go right? Now where do I buy one in Canada? I've gone through some of the links above but I need help to narrow my search. Thanks guys.

I know that Alberta Tactical Rifle carries Smith mounts, but Smith numbering makes no sense to me. Their website lists them by year or NSN, but I often hear of them mentioned as above.

Upside, it is a huge hunk of metal not likely to in M14 cycling. Downside, it will cost you around the same as a norc.

give oldsmobiler a hollar....... he has a new smith mount i think he was lookin to offload....... might want to grab it before i do hehehehe

The part number 2024 is for a trigger group. Part number 2006 is for the scope mount. If you want to do any type of accurate shooting on an M14 type rifle you need to have a solid scope mount. This thing is solid and very well built from one of the best shops out there. And yeah I have one for sale and no I'm not giving it away.

I have one on my Norc with the sight rail and it is built like a tank. I like being able to still use the open sights. A quick adjustable cheek rest is a nice addition so that you can maintain a solid cheek weld with either sights or scope. Just place gradualtion marks on it and you are good to go.

Thanks for the info guys - I ended up ordering an ARMS 18 mount from Wolverine. From what I have read people seem to like this mount as well.

Any report on the mount?

I am looking for the same mount and if you don't mind me asking how much it cost you?

Thx

I payed 229 + tax from Wolverine. I haven't received it yet but when I get it mounted I'll post my opinion of it (which as a newbie probably means jack shmidt!!)
