Smith Sights

McCarthy, I do not know who you are.

There are several on here who received their sights and have not said anything about it here. I thank the ones who have.

I just mailed a person's with the initials of B.P. You know who you are. I'm at quite a disadvantage here because I cannot (or rather, will not) violate privacy of my customers.

I have been moving. I'm closer to the shop now, and actually have the office inside the shop. Better efficiency.

The bottom line is that I'm shipping 100 orders per month. It's a lot. I do attempt to answer all questions in a timely manner but there are times when I simply cannot. I'm asking for three days to respond to emails and I respond to them on Tue and Thu.

Josh

If you want to josh , (just and idea) you can send all of the outstanding orders on this thread to one address . I would volunteer mine then once they get to Canada , I could mail them out from my end.

Phin, that's courteous. I was looking for a distributor in Canada, and almost had one but his boss didn't think my sights would sell fast enough up there.

It's really up to the group here.

Regards,

Josh

My experience with Josh has been ok. It took a few months to get my stuffs but I did finally get them.
I don't know if this is his full time job or not, but it's a one man shop and he just had his second child so I gave him a little slack; especially since he went out of his way to get me some parts from a company that would not ship to Canada.
I don't think the guy is a con. He's may just need a better control/tracking system for orders and emails. It's a pain having to email him a few times to remind him what you ordered and ask him to send your stuffs but I did get mine.

Ok, so Josh, you are coming on here and responding which is encouraging, but this doesn't help me. I understand you are a one man show providing a great product, but I would really like to feel like some resolution is close. If my sight takes time, I could care less, but honesty is key. Providing a shipping number for something that doesn't get shipped seems like nothing more then a way to prevent me from filing a credit card dispute. Please ship my sight and I will be the first to review the sight and post it here. I will gladly say ship to phin11 if it means I get the product. Where do we go from here?! Let me know.

Tuscani,

Check your PMs about five minutes after you read this.

Providing the shipping number is a by-product of the way I use the labels. I'll print a label a week or two in advance, when I am ready to do final fitting, and I write the order on the bottom (receipt) portion. This way the label and order specifics stay together.

Regards,

Josh

Hey guys,

I just wanted to update this thread. I have received my sights, plus a couple of extra posts to try out. While the wait was long, I did receive them, and it will be great to be able to adjust the front sight.

Josh, thank you for filling my order and getting this squared away. I will post up a follow up to the range at 100 yards to see how these sights perform!! Stay tuned!

Phin,

No joy on contacting the USPS for the previous, so I'll be sending a replacement. I'm sure you have to sign for it anyway, but I will be making sure of that plus insuring it out the butt. Reason being they handle it differently (ie, hand scan instead of machine scan) I've learned.

I want you to know this is going forward, not stagnating.

Regards,

Josh

To give you all an idea of what's going on down here, check this out:

1. I mailed Tuscani922's package at the very same time as another person's. In fact, the boxes were held together with mailing rubber bands.

2. Tuscani922's package got there in record time. On the other hand, I've been watching this other gent's daily. On May 5th it departed Wabash. No updates for a while, which I'm used to, but I'm just now seeing that it's been scanned at the ICS hub in Chicago, on May 16.

I am fairly close to Chicago.

The labels were of the same quality, the orders were nearly the same -- I don't see the difference, yet one took 11 days to make it to the international hub in Chicago.

The United States Postal Service works nicely for the continental United States, but things start getting a bit flaky when ya' ask them to ship internationally.

This is why I had a question earlier about private shipping like UPS or FedEx or whomever as possibly being better alternative to the USPS.

Regards,

Josh

While communication was a problem initially,

All 3 items I ordered from Josh arrived today and were as described. I'm glad I made the purchase.
