Bought one today, it was taking them too long to get in the new Walther P22's , so i picked up the S&W 22A in Black. Pretty basic gun, shot about 150 rounds with the kids, my kids first time at the handgun range,(2 12yr olds, 1 11yr old) the grip is a little bigger, that's why i was going to get the P22, anyway, i was told by the gun shop i made a good choice, any other opinions?
I know most people reccomend the Rugers and my g/f is going to pick one of those up. I like to diversify.........

I hate my P22. Barrel always loosens up, even with loctite. Stabilizer screws are alloy also and constantly strip with the slightest over pressure. Don't even get me started about the extractor problems. The original mag was garbage, then newer version feeds much nicer. Trigger pull has to be 15lbs on the double action, 6 or 7lbs single action and with a lot of creep. Accuracy is just not there either.

I never shoot it these days. It's cool to look at, but not fun to play with.

Phoenix Range Edmonton, it was $442+tax, it was a bit of an impulse buy, but i know it'll be better than the Walther. AND, i really don't like the styling of the Ruger/Browning etc..

This is a local gun club/dealer?
I take it they don't have a website.

$442 doesn't sound like a bad price, the main thing is that YOU are hapy with it.

22a

Owned a 22A and was very pleased. It never failed and was quite accurate.
I liked how easy it was to dissasemble and clean and also putting 2 mags with the gun is a nice touch as well. Good value.

It comes with a "Full Length Sight Bridge with Integral Weaver Style Optics Mount "
What kind of Optics can you mount on it, and how do you know if it'll fit?
There aren't any shown in the options page on S&W site......
I know i really don't like the factory sights, they are totally black, and a bit hard to line that up.....
