Smith&Wesson 5946

Anyone out there know the difference between a long trigger guard, and a short trigger guard on the S&W 5946.

The Early Model Smith & Wesson 5904 - 9x19mm. This model had the finger step contoured trigger guard that would later be replaced by the round trigger guard.

So "long" or stepped trigger guards are from the older models...the "small" or rounded ones are on the "newer" models.

I believe the long trigger gard is slightly longer than the short trigger gard which is shorter
