Hey folks, I need some help. I've acquired one of each of these and none of them came with a manual. I have no idea how to field strip them to give them a good cleaning. Can anybody help me out? I've looked for the past 2 hours trying to find a pdf version of the manual but couldnt find any :bangHead: The Smith & Wesson doesnt have them on their website anymore. I guess i dont really need a manual, maybe someone can just geive me the steps to do it. I think i have an idea on how to do it but I don't want to force anything in case im wrong. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks alot :)

It's a pain in the ass.

You need to have some sort of take-down tool to help you. I know some guys use a spent .22lr case. This will cause some scratches, but if you don't care then go for it. I took a chopstick and cut out a section the length of a spent .22lr cartridge. You can also cut a dowel to the right lenght as well.

Pull the slide back but not all the way back.
Stick the dowel inbetween the frame the guiderod in the slide. This should then hold the slide such that it takes the tension off of the plug at the top of the slide. You can then pull the plug out.

Pull the dowel out and then work the guide rod and spring out from the front of the slide. Everything should then pop off.

The trick is getting a tool to help relieve the tenion off of the plug.

PM me if you want more detail.

Thanks alot, i knew it had something to do with that peice but i wasnt sure how to release the dam thing

Cheerz.

The take down tool is just a little piece of orange rubber - I've seen them on ebay. When I sold my 622, I still had the tool. Check with the seller or ebay.
