Hi All, who out there can tell me how long ago smith&wesson made their own ammo? I came across some 308 180gr ammo in perfect condition and was wondering what the age is ? on the clear packjage it says made in canada ?? go figure would it be maybe CIL imperial ammo? any info would be great thanks in advance !!

The blister packs of .30-06 winchester (and other calibers) were made by CIL for S&W in the mid 70's. They came in boxes of 10 blister packs and were marketed as "No Rattle - Pocket Size Packages". The boxes were blue with white lettering and had a large S&W logo on the top. They were available in .243, .270, .308, .30-30, and .30-06 calibres.
I still have 2 unopened boxes (of 100 rounds) in .308 150 gr pointed soft point at the back of my ammo cabinet.....PM me if anyone has a burning desire to see a photo of these almost vintage ammo boxes
