The 9Pro should be excluded. It is factory tuned (21.1 c) - been "modified".
Read section 21.
I think the 9L should be included.
The 9L doesn't have any tricked out features like - extended mag release. It has
got the same frame guts as a normal 9 - unlike the factory tuned 9Pro. It has
the requisite fixed sights (i think they mean iron sights - no fiber optics which also
nixes the 9Pro). And honestly .75 inch of sight radius isn't a game breaker.
No rule on the barrel length. Besides, 5 inch barrels are essentially already
permitted - various Berretta 92/96 is on the list at (4.9 inch) well call it 5 inches.
Rule use to be 8lb D/A or striker fire first pull. Now it is down to 5lb.
National records are held with 106mm S&W 5906 and 5946, shot under the
old 8lb rules. So it isn't about the firearm.
In the spirit of the match, the CPCA Duty Pistol was never envision to be
equipment driven. Rather skill driven and to promote the use of day to day
(issued) gear carried by the individual LEO.
Most duty 9s/.40S&W (with a tuned load) should easily hold the 10-x ring of
the B27 from 3/5/7/15/25 yard.
