I'd get the TRR8 version, basically the same gun but the rails are removable.

They are great wheelies and 8 shots of full house 357Mag is a great way to spend time at the range.

I bought a Performance Center 627 (similar in the fact that it's an 8 shot N frame) but now wish I had bought an M&P R8 instead.

I think that thanks to the two-piece barrel those revolvers reportedly suffers some problems. I also heard that the trigger is not exactly as nice as one may think looking at Performance Centre gun.

An American friend of mine has a 4" S&W Model 67 with the two piece barrel and he swears by it's accuracy over conventional one piece barrels. (BTW, he's a top ranked ICORE competitor.....)

I just bought one, but its not in my hands yet. Apparently S&W Canada, only had two left, of which I got one of them. Wanstalls might have one left. They are getting rave reviews in the US, although a couple of them have had a barrel part come loose. I spoke with a Smith collector at the Edm gun show and he said he loved his, and he had ten different S&W wheel guns. Super light and very accurate. Its a N frame, so its also a bigger frame then a 686. I think every pistol collection should include at least one wheel gun. Can't get much tacti-cooler than an R8 IMHO.

I just put a deposit down on the one from Wanstalls. I'm guna think on it over night.

I've never shot or owned any wheel gun for that matter. This would be my first, lol...

Wheel guns are awesome!
My first experience was my father's S&W Model 15 4" Combat Masterpiece. Wish I could have kept that one.
I fondled a TRR8 recently and while I liked the N-frame size I did not like how lite it felt. However, if I had to holster it all day.....

327-trr8

bought my TRR8 off the EE usually I"m a sig guy but figured I should own at least one wheel gun, this thing is deadly accurate. makes some of my high dollar sigs hang their heads.very nice balance easy to carry with alloy frame. dont shoot unjacketed lead out of it unless you enjoy spending hours cleaning the lead off it! cheers...
